Talad Neon Night Market is a hipster downtown night market that opens in the heart of Bangkok.
Even though Talad Neon is a small night market in the Pratunam district of Bangkok – it is popular with tourists.
The night market is near the major shopping malls and about 10 minutes from Pratunam.
The location is ideal for tourists not in Bangkok over the weekend.
What sets Talad Neon apart is that the night market offers photogenic or ‘Instagramable’ food.
You will find plenty of grilled and BBQ seafood, desserts, and cold drinks.
For shoppers, there is plenty of street fashion and goods on sale.
Talad Neon Night Market is near the famous Platinum Fashion Mall, where many young tourists shop for the latest fashion apparel.
Talad Neon Night Market is convenient for a visit, and they do not include a night market trip in your plans.
I like to chill out at Talad Neon after a weekday business meeting.
Going to Chatuchak Weekend Market in the day’s heat on Sundays is tiring.
Most of the best night markets in Bangkok are open only on weekends; visiting Talad Neon Night Market is a great idea.
Talad Neon Night Market has all the main attributes but lacks a local feel and atmosphere.
You will find other Bangkok night markets that are more original.
- Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin
- JJ Green
- Talad Rot Fai Ratchada
So, how many stalls can I browse at Talad Neon Night Market?
I didn’t count as I went late, and the market was closing on a slow night.
I read somewhere that this night market has over 900 stalls ranging from food to fashion!
The best time to visit is during the evenings, from Wednesday to Sunday.

Things to Buy at Talad Neon Night Market
Plenty of clothing, t-shirts, Thai silk scarves, shoes, and bags are available here.
In terms of variety, most of the goods look familiar in design. Inspect the prices and quality, as these can vary.
Most goods look like those at Pratunam Market, Platinum Fashion Mall, or Palladium Night Market.
The goods may not differ from elsewhere, but the layout of the stalls at Talad Neon Night Market is easy to negotiate, with wide walkways. There are lots of souvenirs and key chains.
Street Food
I love Bangkok’s night markets’ abundant seafood at the street food stalls.
The Thai vendors love to arrange the seafood and decorate it with flowers.
- Fresh Fish
- Crabs
- Big shrimps
- Clams
We ordered a few items to share.
- Somtum – bland
- Thai-style grilled fish in salt
- Grilled Big Prawns
- Grilled Crabs
- Seafood Tom Yam
- Pineapple Fried Rice
- Stir-fried Kailan with Salted Fish
- Coconut ice cream in a coconut shell!
Nam Chim or Nam Jim is Thai for “dipping sauce.” This version of the spicy and zesty Thai-style dipping sauce for seafood is very addictive.
You can make it by putting the fresh raw ingredients into a food processor.
- green chili paste
- red chili padi
- shallot
- garlic
- Thai palm sugar
- fish sauce
- lime juice
Exotic food
At Talad Neon Night Market, you can find something more exotic than grilled Big Shrimp.
You could try a few local fried insects.
- grasshoppers
- cricket
- pupas
- bamboo caterpillars
- house crickets
- scorpions
Various snacks are sold here, but Talad Neon Night Market’s choice is limited compared to Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin or Talad Rot Fai Ratchada.
For crafts markets, Cicada Market Weekend Night Shopping in Hua Hin.
Fruit and Sweet Desserts
We tried the most popular Thai dessert, Mango Sticky Rice, which was lovely.
We also had pineapple.
However, if you want to try durians, you might want to give this a miss.
Our durian was a massive disappointment as it was bland and tasteless.
Drinks
Iced milk teas of various tastes will help you survive Bangkok’s hot weather.
Where is Talad Neon Night Market?
The Talad Neon Night Market is just behind Phetchaburi Road, between Sois 23 and 29.
The Palladium shopping mall. If you’re staying in the Pratunam area, you could walk there.
Other Activities
You will find several bars and restaurants at the back end of Talad Neon Night Market, which is quieter and has a more relaxed atmosphere.
Getting your haircut at the night markets is surprisingly popular in Bangkok.
There are several trendy barbershops in most night markets.
Outside Talad Neon Night Market
As Talad Neon Night Market mainly targets tourists, the street food prices here may be higher than on Bangkok’s streets.
For cheaper Thai street food, where the locals go, you can try the side street between Talad Neon and The Palladium shopping mall.
The grilled fish and shrimp are priced significantly lower than at Talad Neon Night Market.
We felt that this hipster night market is worth a visit if you are not willing to squeeze in with the large crowds you will find at Bangkok’s more established night markets.
However, our itinerary would not prioritize Talad Neon as it is less impressive than the more popular night markets.
You can head to JJ Green and Rot Fai Market Ratchada, where you will unlikely find plenty of traditional Thai street food at Talad Neon.
Opening Hours
Talad Neon Night Market is open daily from 4 pm until midnight.

Talad Neon is not as impressive as the other more popular night markets.
