Genting SkyAvenue was the perfect starting point for one of my best adventures: going on a 24-hour Food Trail Experience at Genting Highlands.
The top restaurants and outlets laid out their red carpet and beckoned with tasty international, regional, and local cuisines that whet any appetite.
I mean, that’s a whopping 13 restaurants and nine snack specialty outlets to tackle!
How is that even possible, you ask?
Here’s a recount of the delicious calorie-busting tale of Genting Sky Avenue lifestyle mall’s newest restaurants and eateries.
Dine like a rock star!
Seriously, there’s no other description that I could think of. Paul and I felt like Rockstar throughout our trip.
When it comes to hospitality, Resorts World Genting scores top points.
Speaking of Rockstar, Smart Dory met celebrity blogger Dato Kee Hua Chee, who hunts for the best dishes.
Top Restaurants at Genting SkyAvenue
This is a toughie, naming the top restaurant.
All the outlets did a great job in terms of hospitality and prompt service.
Smart Dory records a big thank you to all the restaurants for rolling out treats galore.
Paul and I voted the following based on our favorites (pork & ribs), some all-time favorites, and crowd favorites.
These restaurants are great for a family meal or hanging out with friends.
Reserve a table for the best dining in Genting Highlands.
1 DÔME Café Malaysia
For most of us who grew up with DÔME, this cafe needs no introduction.
DÔME is best known for its moist carrot cake washed down with its iconic cuppa with the complimentary biscotti.
The café has perfected the art of a lazy afternoon snacking before the surge of Instagramable cafes and other one-hit wonders.
DOME is the choice setting for a relaxed meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for fans and loyal customers.
The selection of sandwiches and decadent drinks is also a welcomed sight.
2 Morganfield’s
Well known for its signature share platters of slow-cooked pork ribs in hickory wood, Morganfield’s American Midwest menu of burgers, steaks, and club sandwiches is a meat lovers’ paradise.
Morganfield’s brings the world of American soul food and Blues music together.
This is where meaty servings are magnified with charred meats or creamy sauces and that distinct smoky wood flavor.
Southern hospitality is elevated at this restaurant, which serves finger-licking delights like country-fried sirloin and tequila-spiked chicken.
For Pescetarians, there are seafood dishes like pan-fried sea bass and tequila-spiked prawns to chow down.
The activity sheets, which include coloring and origami instructions, are best for families.
Kids can also play with balloons supplied by the restaurant.
A big plus point is that kids eat for free during the weekends and on public holidays with every paying adult.
3 BMS Organics
BMS Organics is a chain of vegetarian cafes for the health-conscious. Eating clean doesn’t have to be expensive, but it can be tasty.
The cafe specializes in organic healthy, and tasty dishes cooked in Malaysian, Eastern, and Western styles.
The café’s initiative to promote organic and plant-based eating is the driving force behind its creation of tasty, healthy food.
BMS Organic’s vegetarian Green Menu states that they use organic and natural ingredients in their food.
The dishes are made with fresh, natural ingredients without any chemical flavoring or additives.
Choose from their crisp fresh salads, healthy pasta, noodles, signature lei cha, and nutty French toast.
There is no MSG, GMO ingredients, or microwave cooking at any of the BMS Organics cafes.
4 DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe
This fantasy-themed Asian Western café has hordes of comic geeks drooling over the American sandwiches, burgers, pasta, and pizzas.
All this is washed down with sodas, ice blends, shakes, coffee, or tea.
The superhero theme can thrill fans to overlook the healthy food and drinks embossed with a superhero logo.
The decor of the restaurant has tables and chairs decorated with the Batman logo. Comic book posters adorn the wall.
There is superhero artwork at the counter, making this café Instagram worthy of a selfie or two.
After your superhero meal, make your way to the DC Comics Super Heroes retail outlet so that you can shop for shirts and other cute collectibles.
5 Royale Vietnam
With Malaysians traveling to Vietnam, the offering of pure, rich, comforting food is popular.
Royale Vietnam brings the flavors and taste of Vietnamese cooking, highlighted by the time and effort spent on food arrangement.
Most of the foods served are nothing short of a spectacular with intricate vegetable carvings.
If you’re a fan of the much-loved pho, the flavorful broths made with fresh ingredients and beef slices take center stage.
Don’t forget to order Bahn mi, other favorites of authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
6 Boat Noodle
Thai Boat Noodles is a dish of flat rice noodles in a meat broth initially served in small portions on the boats that ply Bangkok’s waterways.
The Mini-Size Noodles are to prevent customers from being scalded by the piping hot soup.
The flavorful meat broth thickened with pork blood.
Boat noodles are served dry or in soup, with your choice of rice noodles or vermicelli.
There is a generous topping of pork slices, meatballs, crunchy deep-fried lard, and offal.
The noodles are tossed in gravy or swimming in a small bowl of broth.
Mini-size boat noodles that are just about two mouthfuls.
The noodles are delicious, so you can have as many or as few bowls as you want.
We also tried the soft steamed white bread cubes with sweet kaya and fried chicken wings.
The famous Thai iced tea is a great thirst quencher.
There is no lack of 24-hour Dining Outlets at Genting SkyAvenue in case you feel famished in the middle of the night.
7 Richdad
Richdad is an All-Day-Breakfast cafe with great breakfast and deli foods from

Their repertoire is from basic breakfast staples
Two Half Boiled Egg with Toast Bread and a Choice of Coffee or Tea are RM15, while the Baby Lobster Nasi Lemak is priced at RM30.
8 Babajia
I am a true blue Penang-born Peranakan. For me, it is nearly impossible to get that authentic taste of Nyonya food that I enjoy.
Babajia on Level 1 of Sky Avenue serves a decent meal of contemporary Baba-Nyonya cuisine.
Roti Jala with Chicken Curry is RM19, Char Kway Teow is RM21, and Stir-Fried Spinach is RM20.
9 Only Mee & JR Curry
If you feel peckish in the middle of the night and crave something spicy and carb-laden, head to Only Mee & JR Curry.
Both outlets are Open Daily for 24 Hours/week.
We wanted to try Only Mee’s noodles but didn’t want to overindulge, so we chose the Little Bowl Noodles.
There are four types of local noodle dishes in tiny bowls with small serving portions.
There’s decent Assam Laksa, Curry Laksa, Mee Udang, and Green Curry Laksa to slurp up in cold weather.
The bowl of noodles was generously filled with condiments.
However, the Green Curry Laksa was a tad salty.
Assam Laksa Penang, Curry Laksa Ipoh, Prawn Mee Penang, and Green Curry Mee Thai, all priced at RM16 each.
