Hao Coffee Has the Best Antiques in Nakhon Si Thammarat
Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is the second largest province in southern Thailand.
Most Malaysians travel up north to Hat Yai and completely miss out Nakhon Si Thammarat. If you’re tired of the city and want to see a completely different side of Thailand, here are a couple of the best places to check out.
Nothing beat going local and finding that little gem off the beaten track. We headed to Hao Coffee in the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Where can you find the best antique Cafe?
Hao Coffee is the best antique café with real antique furniture that you can sit on and enjoy a hot cup of robust coffee in the afternoon.
For a totally unique experience, this cozy antique café takes the top spot! Hao Coffee has French café lace curtains and real antique furniture to sit on.
It’s both quirky and charming.
As you enter, you will be amazed to step into another world of prized authentic antiques. There is an eclectic mix of authentic vintage and antiques.
Who owns the antiques?
The collection belongs to local antique collector Sutham Chayankiart.
Who is Sutham Chayankiart?
Sutham Chayankiart or Ko-Ad is a well-respected businessman in Nakhon Si Thammarat and owns a restaurant and bakery in the city.
When was Sutham Chayankiart inspired to collect antiques?
Sutham’s love for collecting antiques was spurred by a visit to Captain Cook museum in Australia on one of his foreign stints.
When he returned to Thailand, he was filled with a great desire to collect all antiques, any antique.
His collection is on permanent display to share with his customers.
Many of the pieces are displayed in his restaurant, Khrua Nakhorn and the bakery, Hao Coffee.
What antiques can you see?
Sutham has antique tables and chairs, antique clocks and even antique rifles mounted on the wall.

Are those real Riffles on the wall?
We spotted two rifles over a hundred years old mounted on the wall above the coffee dispenser area. And yes, they are real!

What does Hao Coffee look like?
The mismatched wooden tables and chairs and vintage objects look like a movie set!
Sutham even recycled a few vintage sewing machines stands with glass tops into pretty tables.

Which is his favorite collection?
Sutham’s love for clocks is evident. He has over forty different types of antique clock models on display all in perfect working condition.
It can be rather noisy when all the clocks chime at the same time. However, each clock has its own district and beautiful musical chimes which strikes up every hour on the hour!
Our tea time treat was perfectly timed. We had our drinks and snacks served and waited in anticipation.
At 4 pm all the antique clocks chimed noisily. It’s quite an experience.
What is the taste of the local brew?
We loved the excellent local High-quality roasted coffee and tea. Both drinks taste wonderful.
What kind of desserts does the bakery bake?
We tried the Matcha Caramel Cupcakes which are delicious.

What is the service like?
The staff is Thai. They will not be able to converse in English. As this is a local outlet, there are few tourists here. Most of the customers are local residents.
Our Thai friend helped us order and the service is good.
Travel tip: As this is a local place, the staff may not be able to converse in English.
A little hideaway
Hao Coffee is the perfect spot to chill. I would recommend this for a coffee date with friends.
