Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng graced the celebration of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, acting consul-general of Thailand Sukoom Somprasonk, consul-general of the People’s Republic of China Wu Jun, consul-general of Japan Kiyoshi Itoi, consul-general of Republic of Indonesia Iwanshah Wibisono and Penang State dignitaries.
The event also marks the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Thailand’s Father’s Day.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng wishes His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun good health and prosperity for the Kingdom of Thailand and her people.
The acting consul-general of Thailand, Sukoom Somprasonk, mentioned that the celebration strengthens cordial ties and relations between Penang and Thailand.
After the Chief Minister’s address, the Thai Royal Anthem ‘Long Live The King’ was played, followed by a toast from both parties.

On 5 December 2017, the Kingdom of Thailand and its people celebrate these auspicious celebrations.
It is the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand’s Father’s Day.
The guests were treated to a selection of hor oeuvres and sampled spicy, flavorful Thai delicacies.
The delicious Pad Thai (Thai-style Fried Noodles) and Thai Curry Noodles with Chicken were very popular.
