Cicada Market Weekend Night Shopping in Hua Hin

Cicada Market Hua Hin Performing Arts Artist Crafts Scene is a beautiful outdoor exhibition space for performing arts and artists to showcase their talents, crafts, and art.

This weekend’s contemporary art market is perfect for shoppers on the lookout for unique handmade crafts.

The Artisan Night Market is a community space for designers, artists, creators, performances, students, and tourists.

The products on display integrate culture, arts, and lifestyles seamlessly.

Cicada Market is one of the top 5 places to go to Hua Hin.

What to Expect at Cicada Market?

Cicada Market is an imaginative art space that serves as a community space for art students, artists, creators, designers, and tourists to come together.

The open style night market has an extensive collection of handmade crafts, decorative items, clothes, and even secondhand items and innovative SME products on display.

You are greeted by a beautiful garden setting with many tall trees as you enter the Cicada Market.

The general ambience is well lit with sparkling decorations.

There is a food court in the centre.

A well-planned walkway has street stalls on both sides. There are other small buildings housing shopping outlets and eateries.

At one of the night markets, there is a venue for live performances and art exhibitions.

The area has one of the best hygiene encounters in the night market.

The atmosphere is very relaxed with a vast comfortable walking space.

We could walk freely without feeling hemmed in.

You will love this if the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is not your cup of Chā ชา!

Cicada Market Layout

We found the Cicada Market’s food area and stalls are the cleanest, well laid out, and a pleasure to browse.

There are four sections or venues to Cicada Market. Art À la mode, Cicada Art Factory, Amphitheatre, and Cicada Cuisine.

What to Buy Art À la mode?

Art À la mode is a place for young Thai entrepreneurs, artists, and students to gather to showcase their products.

Art and craft vendors have their stalls on both sides of the walkway.

The common theme is art and crafts.

Some vendors may be professionals or even amateurs in the various fields of the arts.

There are fashion clothing, handmade bags, accessories, trinkets.

There are many handmade decorative items sold in the open-style stalls.

Some stalls sell crafts, souvenirs, paper products, and even pre-loved items.

Young Hipster Vendors man the stalls

Most of the vendors here are young people from art colleges. There are local vendors and some vendors from Bangkok.

The community is one artist supporting artists with the help of the local community and tourists.

Some young people we spoke to are designers who make a little extra income over the weekend.

Young Thai entrepreneurs are very creative in their display and choice of attractive products.

They separate their creations and some other items bought from the more significant wholesale markets. The design here appears more unique.

Some items are simply irresistible and very cute or even practical.

The prices are reasonable; the sellers are friendly and nice.

You will find T-shirts with unique graphic designs—bedazzled iPhone cases.

We bought exciting and quirky trinkets, pretty bracelets, cute earrings, and quite a lot of the crochet animal fridge magnets!

Cicada Art Factory

Cicada Art Factory serves as a venue for art exhibitions, which houses the centre’s two white buildings.

The exhibitions feature young artists with distinct styles.

The Art factory concept is to promote young artists to help generate revenue with their original artworks.

The artists rotated regularly to show content that includes sculptures, photographs, illustrations, paintings, and portraits.

What to Eat at Cicada Cuisine – Cicada Market Food?

Cicada Cuisine (Food Zone) has a good variety of local and international cuisines.

These include Thai noodles, rice dishes, and seafood stalls.

The setup is very professional and clean.

Skip the seafood if you’re on a budget and head to the Tamarind Market next door for local style food.

We ordered Pad Thai, Som Tam (Thai papaya salad), Fried Mussels Thai Style, and Thai Style Grilled Pork for our dinner.

We ordered the must-have dessert, Thai mango sticky rice.

If you prefer international cuisine, there’s Korean B.B.Q, American and Italian pasta, and Chinese Stir-Fry dishes.

There is a good variety of desserts, and they serve many choices of drinks.

You can buy food tokens from white booths dotted around the site.

You use these to buy a wide choice of foods and drinks.

There is a wine bar here. You get to sit at proper tables and chairs to enjoy your dinner.

Cicada Market Hua Hin Promotes Performing Arts

At the amphitheatre-style venue, the performing arts take centre stage to entertain, educate, and even amuse visitors.

We enjoyed some traditional dances and a rock concert with Thai ballads.

The performances rotated regularly to promote the works of talented artists in the performing arts.

The creative activities include workshops, fine arts exhibitions, dance performances, music from the university, community theatre, and various local artists.

Cicada Market is open to vendors of handicrafts and proposals from artists, musicians, and performers looking for a venue.
