How To Move Around Hua Hin When You Travel For Holidays?

How To Move Around Hua Hin When You Travel For Holidays? It is fairly easy to move around the beach town and explore by foot. For us girls, we wanted to cram as much as possible in our day so, we limited our walks to the German Bakery for our daily breakfast. The adventurous and energetic would prefer to drive or ride around town.

Bicycles are an excellent mode of transport and can be rented at many places for about 30 baht an hour or 150 baht for the day. Some hotels have bicycles for hire. Do check with the reception.
Be sure to lock your Bicycles when you park it as sometimes thefts do occur.

Motorcycle and Scooter Rental

If you are adventurous, you can rent a motorbike for about 200 baht a day. The rental starts by day, week or month. The price depends on the cc and type of vehicle. There are discounts for long-term rental of minimum 3 months. You need to check with the vendor directly to negotiate a good price. However, some owners may nitpick every scratch and demand compensation. Do check properly before taking the bike. Choose a reputable vendor and drive carefully. Be sure to wear your helmet as most serious motorbike accidents involve head injuries.

It’s so convenient to hop on a tuk-tuk for a joy ride. For shoppers, this is the best option to move around. For a fair price, check with your hotel reception for a rough estimate. Generally, the tuk-tuks are about the same price. Sometimes when it’s late at night or there are fewer tuk-tuks plying the route, it may cost a bit more. When using tuk-tuks, be sure to negotiate your fare before hopping on board.

Taxi Rental

Going further from Hua Hin town, a great option is to rent a taxi. The taxi driver act as “tour guides” and have laminated tour packages for half day or full day sightseeing. We booked a taxi that took us to Pala-U Waterfall and Wat Huay Mongkol.

Car Rental

Car rentals are also available with numerous local companies with lower prices. You will be required to have a valid international driver’s license otherwise your insurance will be void. Remember to drive defensively and do give way to larger vehicles.

Motorbike Taxis

For a cheap, quick convenient ride around Hua Hin, you can jump on a motorbike taxi. You can see a gaggle of drivers wearing brightly color vests. They normally hang around their motorbike. Trips in town cost about 40 baht. Most of the motorbikes taxis do not have a helmet. In case your driver rides like a speed monster, don’t hesitate to ask him to slow down by saying Cĥā lng h̄ǹxy (ช้าลงหน่อย)
