Malaysian Kitchen RM25Nett Menu At Courtyard Penang

Malaysian Kitchen Menu at Courtyard by Marriott was calling my name.

We wanted a nice cool spot for lunch without battling the noon day heat.

The school holidays were in full chaotic swing.

The heat? Relentless.

A scorching 33°C by noon that feels like 38°C

“Miss Lisa, this weather ah… hot enough to fry omelette on the road!”

Let’s find a nice quiet place with basement parking and a cool environment without dashing about in the heat!

And we thought, if only we could be like the super cool, uber rich Tai Tais.

Totally unfazed by either weather or mood.

Lisa and I glided in. (Or so we liked to think.)

Cool air. Quiet room. Sweet, sweet relief.

No more fanning myself with the menu like a drama queen (coz the menu was think and heavy).

Thank heavens we found a wonderful restaurant offering a variety of Asian dishes!

I loved the Penang Kitchen tucked away in Courtyard by Marriott.

Where to Eat in Penang When It’s Too Hot to Think?

Basement parking (bliss), cool air-conditioning (double bliss), and best of all?

It was peacefully quiet.

No loud conversations.

Or worse, tables packed so tight you’re stuck eavesdropping on strangers.

Perfect for our much-needed tai tai tête-à-tête.

Once we sat down, the Malaysian Kitchen menu hit us like a glorious wave of local favourites.

It was hard to choose, but both Lisa and I went straight for the Chicken Biryani.

The Malaysian Kitchen Chicken Biryani

A few weeks ago, I tried their Middle East Meets India Buffet Dinner.

Once I tasted that incredible Dum Gosht Biryani, I was hooked!

Sorry SD, I’m basically in a full-on relationship with their biryani game.

A Flavor Bomb in Every Bite

The best thing about the Briyani is the rice!

Warm, moist and super flavourful the fluffy basmati rice, slow-cooked and bursting with hand-ground spices.

You get hits of cardamom, clove, cinnamon!

It’s the kind of aroma that makes you close your eyes and smile.

Delicious!

A Spiced Love Story

The chicken? Fall-apart tender, rich with flavour, that feels like a hug.

The gravy was warm, gently spiced gravy and delicious.

Add cucumber raita and crispy papadum—lunch was made in heaven.

We finished everything on our plates!

Happy!

Lisa said it best.

“This biryani is so good, I’d ghost my salad for it.”

Just kidding—the salad of julienned cabbage, carrots, and coriander was crisp and tasted incredibly fresh!

We just loved the textural mix.

What Else to Eat at Malaysian Kitchen for RM25

The menu at The Malaysian Kitchen is a tribute to local cravings.

Each dish is just RM25 nett—and for hotel dining, that’s quite the tai tai deal.

Malaysian Kitchen Menu

  • Mee Kari: Noodles in rich curry broth, served with fish cake, diced chicken, bean sprouts, tofu, and sambal.
  • Assam Laksa: Rice noodles in a tangy fish broth, topped with ginger flower, pineapple, and a prawn paste.
  • Ayam Percik: Grilled marinated chicken wings served with mixed salad, seasonal acar and rich percik sauce.
  • Char Koay Teow: Wok-fried flat rice noodles with fish cake, prawns, sprouts, and crackers.
  • Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang: Fragrant coconut rice served with braised chicken rendang, cucumber, peanuts, anchovies, sambal, and egg.
  • Nasi Ayam: Steamed or roasted chicken served with ginger paste, chili sauce, mixed salad, and chicken soup.
  • Chicken Biryani: Aromatic basmati rice cooked with hand-ground spices, served with braised biryani chicken, cucumber raita, and papadum. Our pick, and highly recommended

Honestly, the Chicken Biryani was so good, I nearly stood at the door waving tourists in like a proud ambassador.

“Come in, the food is good!RM25 nett a plate—we had two gorgeous lunches for just RM50!”

Total steal for that kind of flavour bomb.

“Disclaimer: I’m just a customer, not staff,” I said sheepishly when I caught them looking at me like I worked there.

“That’s Dory,” Miss Lisa chuckled, shaking her head.

A Cool Spot for School Holidays & Tai Tai Vibes

The Malaysian Kitchen isn’t just about food.

It’s about comfort, cool ambience, and a little escape from the madness outside.

Perfect for office lunch breaks, gatherings or simply pretending you’re living your best Tai Tai life.

Come hungry. Leave happy.
