Some of Chef Nor Ismail’s signature dishes are

  • Chicken Rendang with Ginger Flower

I love the plating of the food, with pretty edible flowers and herbs like Torch Ginger and Daun Pegaga.

Penang Kitchen Chef Nor Ismail’s Recommendations

Chef Nor Ismail was on hand to welcome me with a recommendation of the outlet’s most popular dishes for a decadent lunch.

I knew I was in for a good lunch whenever Chef Nor Ismail is in the house.

I have a penchant for good Malay cuisine, and Nasi Melayu is a meal I often look forward to eating.

Penang Kitchen – Wild Ginger Flower Chicken Rendang (RM28)

I remembered telling Chef, surely I can’t eat so much – and indeed I finished my Blue Rice, Chicken Rendang, and Prawn Kerabu Salad with a side order of Fish Crackers.

My resistance to good Malay food is practically ZERO.

On top of my rice set, I also enjoyed giant Chunky Chicken Satay Pizza (RM28).

Penang Kitchen – Review

The newly opened Luxury Hotel, simple modern interior design, overall clean, comfortable, and immaculate.

Location near the old town area just before the traffics lights at Macalister Road and Anson Road.

The service is attentive with friendly F&B Manager Mr. Selva to make everyone feel welcomed.

The food served is delicious; the tableware – enamel plates, bowls, and even a tiffin set is impressive.

Courtyard by Marriott Penang Car Parking

The only hick-up was entering the hotel parking, which is cashless.

I use a Touch ‘n Go smartcard, but since the machine’s location is a little awkward, I need help to touch my card.

The friendly hotel staff was helpful.

There are improvement opportunities, especially the hotel car park, which is more visible signage are needed.

The arrow markings in black were not visible.
