If you’re visiting Lam Wah Ee Hospital in Jelutong, you might find 三点三 Meet-PG (Three Point Three – PG) across the road.
The casual café offering Hainanese-inspired breakfast and lunch snacks. Think Polo Buns, Roti Bakar, and Coffee—simple, familiar comfort food.
The cafe may be super convenient for hospital visitors, but it has received mixed reviews for its food, ambiance, and pricing.
Ambiance and Dining Environment
三点三 Meet-PG has an open-air setup with a rustic charm that appeals to laid-back, casual dining fans.
It’s not bad, especially considering it’s right next to a busy road.
The vibe feels pretty clean, though the shared seating is a little confusing—it’s also used for a nighttime Western food and barbecue setup.
This creates a mismatch between the usual breakfast café vibe and the nighttime vibe, which might throw you off.
Parking is available, but the area can get really muddy when it rains.
The day I visited, the area was slushy from the previous night’s heavy rain, so parking and walking around could have been more convenient.
Customer Service
Customer service here is pretty straightforward.
They have a self-service system.
You jot down your order on a small scrap of paper, take it to the counter, pay, and wait for your food.
It was a quiet cloudy morning when we visited, so food came out quickly.
It’s nothing extraordinary, but it works.
The service feels pretty typical for a local kopitiam—efficient but nothing to write home about.
Food Quality and Taste
As for the food, 三点三 Meet-PG does decent, simple dishes.
They’re known for their Polo Buns, kaya toast with half-boiled eggs, and “餐蛋面” (instant noodles with luncheon meat and egg).
The portions are on the smaller side, and the flavors are okay, but nothing that’ll blow you away.
Polo Buns (RM4.90 – RM11.30)
Here’s a quick look at some prices:
Polo Bun Kosong: RM4.90
Polo Bun with Butter: RM5.90
Add-ons:
Butter Slice: RM1.50
Chicken Ham: RM1.90
Cheese Slice: RM1.50
Sunny Egg: RM1.50
We went for a basic Polo Bun at RM4.90. But once you add things like ham, butter, or cheese, it quickly adds up. For example, a bun with butter, ham, and cheese can cost RM9.80.
It’s decent, but the price feels steep for something simple.
On a side note a Oriental Polo Bun cost RM 8.37
SDS Dried Noodles (RM14.90)
I love HK style luncheon meat and egg noodles.
The noodles were slightly overcooked (a little too al dente), and the black soy sauce with garlic oil didn’t quite stand out.
It was topped with two slices of fried luncheon meat, a fried egg, and 2 leaves of mustard greens.
While the taste was okay, the portion was small for the price.
It’s something Emily could quickly whip up at home for breakfast.
We laughed and joked that maybe Emily could cook for our breakfast meeting!
For drinks, we had iced Kopi Cham (RM2.20) and hot lemon tea (RM2.50)—solid choices and pretty good value for money.
Final Thoughts
三点三 Meet-PG is convenient for a quick meal in the area, especially if you’re heading to or coming from Lam Wah Ee Hospital.
But it doesn’t stand out as a must-visit cafe.
While the ambiance is a little off with the mismatched setup, and simple food- the prices feel a bit high for what you’re getting.
The drinks, though, are pretty reasonably priced.
I’d say 三点三 Meet-PG is suitable for a one-off visit if you’re in the area and need a bite.
However it’s not somewhere we’d be rushing back to regularly.
There are plenty of other places in Penang with better value, tastier food, and more comfortable atmospheres—especially if you’re looking for air conditioning!
Remarks:
Parking: On-site or at Lam Wah Ee Hospital. It’s unorganized and muddy when it rains.
Cleanliness: The space is relatively clean, though some might need more attention.
Convenience: Super convenient for a quick bite while waiting for an appointment or on your way to the hospital.
