65C Ondo Bakery is a high end bakery known for its extensive range of freshly-baked pastries using Japanese techniques.
An Introduction to 65C Ondo Bakery Penang
The first 65C Ondo Bakery opened on Christmas Eve 2022.
In two years, this Japanese-style bakery café has made a name for itself in the local food scene.
It has grown to five locations—three on Penang Island and two on the mainland.
Since its opening, I’ve visited the café on Jalan Burma Road on numerous occasions.
I like to buy their delicious, Japanese-inspired baked goods.
What Makes 65C Ondo Bakery Unique?
65°C. Ondo’s pastries are said to be baked using imported flour, butter and Japanese baking methods.
Their attention to detail and commitment to premium ingredients set them apart.
They earn themself a spot among the best bakeries in Penang.
Although they are on the pricier side.
The enticing display at Ondo is enough to make dessert lovers stop in their tracks.
There is an array of Japanese milk bread, buttery croissants, soft buns, fluffy rolls, small sweets, and more.

Must-Try Pastries at 65C Ondo Bakery
There is a wide selection available.
Crowd favorites include cream rolls, croissants, and tarts.
The pastries are freshly baked daily.
You get a premium taste and you taste deliciousness in every bite.
I’ve purchased a couple of pastries before.
Their cream horns were particularly impressive.
The memorabl mouthfeel was crispy and crunchy on the outside, with creamy custard on the inside.
During a recent visit, Queenie got us a fluffy, pillowy cheesecake.
The taste was pure indulgence.
It practically dissolved in my mouth!

The Ambiance and Café Experience
The café is spacious and stylish.
There is a calm Muji-style minimalist zen.
However, the café area feels a bit disjointed.
The seating area near the door is just too ddd.
The other seating area are tables near the glass panel.
It gets too hot and uncomfortable in the afternoons.
The seating arrangement could use a little update, as it feels a bit worn.
Most days, the little café’s seats are fully occupied.
We managed to enjoy a leisurely afternoon during off-peak hours, savoring cheesecake and coffee.
The coffee, smooth and rich, pairs perfectly with the sweet treats.
However, the seating isn’t ideal if you prefer lingering in cool cafés for longer periods.
