Dwi Archipelago Spices Chicken Rice at Kompleks Makanan Persiaran Gurney (KMPG) Persiaran Gurney held a special place in my heart.
It has been quite some time since I last set foot in that cozy food court overlooking the scenic Gurney Drive seafront promenade.
Operated by the Penang Island City Council, this humble establishment predominantly caters to the Malay community.
Though small, it boasts a remarkable reputation for its delicious Mee Goreng and Pasembor, also known as Indian Rojak.
Most patrons would head to the Mee Goreng and Edgecumbe Road Pasembor stalls beside the beverage vendors.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck during the Movement Control Order (MCO) as the Mee Goreng seller died.
In a heartwarming turn of events, the drinks vendor and his wife have taken up the mantle of operating the stall.

Nonetheless, if you venture towards the Kompleks Makanan Persiaran Gurney (KMPG) from the pedestrian crossing.
You will come across a hidden gem—Dwi Archipelago Spices Chicken Rice with Herbs.
On the day of my visit, the Pasembor stall was not open.
I was rushing for an appointment and saw a crowd of customers eagerly waiting at the Mee Goreng stall.
So I opted for the flavorful Chicken Rice with Ayam Goreng Berempah.

A kind-hearted Malay lady managed the Chicken Rice stall.
Only later did I discover that the young man who was expertly preparing the food was none other than her grown-up son.
Time had swiftly passed, and I realized it had been more than a decade since my last visit to this nostalgic spot.
The food, as always, was delightful.
The Chicken Rice set, priced at RM8.
You get a perfectly fried egg, featured succulent, crispy-skinned chicken that was simply divine.
To complement the meal, I savored a glass of refreshing coconut water.
KMPG drink stall offered various beverages, but the cooling coconut drink was a good thirst quencher.
The drinks stall specializes in a delightful three-layer iced tea.
It comprises a comforting blend of tea (top layer), milk, and gula Melaka (palm sugar).
The chilled coconut beverage served as an ideal accompaniment to the mouthwatering fare.
The combination of Pasembor and Mee Goreng made this place a crowd favorite.
However, I highly recommend trying the aromatic Dwi Archipelago Spices Chicken Rice with Herbs if you desire a satisfying rice-based meal.
