Sin Seh Kai Bakery is the go-to place for your café style of quick breakfasts for early risers.

It’s also known as New World Park in Penang Hokkien.

The artisan bakery cleverly used “Sin Seh Kai” New World Park in Penang Hokkien for its business name.

The cafe opens at 7.30 AM, which is perfect right after your morning jog or workout.

And if you’re a fast eater, you get free parking on the road as MBPP only starts charging at 8.00 AM.

There are some perfect plus points if you are a Penang Kiam Siap like Dory.

Penny and I headed there on a Saturday.

I decided to park at New World Park.

Penny parked on the curbside, thinking it was a Sunday – and grew weary as she had trouble signing in to her parking app.

Dory: Too many apps, lah you!
Penny: Yada yada yada.

Sin Seh Kai Artisan Bakery (formerly the Baking Garage)

There are many artisan bakeries in Penang.

It’s just that not all offer freshly baked croissants on the menu.

So, you can get them at Sin Seh Kai if you love classic sourdough, rolls, bread, and specialty bread Bánh mì (Vietnamese Baguette).

Sin Seh Kai – The Baker’s Big Breakfast (RM 28.00)

What we didn’t get. There are two items on their laminated picture menu. I remember the other was priced at RM29.00

We wanted a quick breakfast, not a big breakfast of homemade chicken sausages, classic sourdough, scrambled eggs, and smoked salmon.

I looked at the menu and immediately agreed with Penny to eat a simple breakfast.

Sin Seh Kai Grilled Cheese Sandwiches RM13.00

I tried the Mushroom Grilled Sandwich with hot, melty cheese, and it was delicious.

You will love it if you’re a grilled cheese sandwich girl.

Otherwise, bread and eggs are good.

There’s a traditional menu of Half Boiled Egg & Bread Set.

You can select white bread, sourdough bread, or wholemeal bread with either homemade kaya or peanut butter spread mixed with Lescure French Butter.

Penny and I spied the leftover food on the following table.

The foreigners didn’t like the sourdough bread and left most of the crust.

Not everyone enjoys sweetened and aromatic homemade Kaya (Coconut Egg Jam)

Croissant Sandwich with Egg RM10.00

Their specialty here is the croissant. Penny suggested a Croissant Sandwich at RM10.00.

Sin Seh Kai’s Crois­sant is made from Lescure butter, which is light yellow, bright, almost white, and has a smooth and concentrated texture.

Its quality elevates the crois­sant to ensure a delicate and crisp texture when used in pastry, perfect for sandwiches.

We chose Sunny Side Egg and Scrambled Eggs and preferred the latter.

There were cakes, but it was too early to start the day with sweets.

I heard that the Gula Melaka Cheesecake is good.

Sin Seh Kai Drinks Menu

When I eat with Penny, we prefer traditional no-frills beverages – coffee and tea instead of café coffee or juices.

We often order the same food items as it saves time, and we can leave fast.

She introduced me to Cham RM4.30, a milky drink with a mixture of Kopi and Tea.

Cham tastes different in different cafes.

I like the Cham at Trois Canon Café best.

The version here is good.

Penny: Saves time, and you don’t pinch my food.

Dory: Why not???

We decided we needed more energy before grocery shopping.

New World Park has a wide selection of tasty hawker food.

Sin Seh Kai Review

Plus, points are their opening hours.

Sin Seh Kai is a nice option if you’re looking for an excellent place to eat breakfast or brunch.

It’s not too big so that you can get comfortable outside.

You can choose from various dishes, including noodles and other items.

The restaurant offers proper stainless steel cutleries.

People come here for a wide range of handmade pastries and artisan bread.
