Danok’s transformation from a jungle to a family-oriented park with restaurants and a weekend fun staycation by MBI International is fantastic.
There’s something for everyone here.
The buffet breakfast is tasty and halal. The rooms are clean and large.
The beds are comfortable, and we had a well-earned restful sleep after our shopping spree, clubbing, and karaoke.
The entire area is well-secured, so walking around at night is safe. Otherwise, hop on and off the hotel shuttle. Danok is an excellent location for a relaxing family holiday.
Plus, there’s a Thai 7-Eleven and Family Mart to buy all your favorite snacks to bring home!

Hotel Rooms
MBI Resort is the largest resort in Danok, with 212 rooms. Upgraded suites have a living room and whirlpool tubs. Room service is available.
Sleep In
These are the top points for one of the best sleep I’ve had. MBI Resort Danok and Vouk Hotel in Penang have the best beds and pillows for restful sleep.
The hotel room is a vast, nice, and spacious room with a super comfy bed and soft pillows.
One word of caution, do not open the windows at night as there are flying insects from nearby fostered areas. The room has a flat-screened TV, a minibar, and a safe box.
Bathroom
The water pressure of the rain shower in the bathroom is good.
Location
Even though this is the farthest-flung hotel in Danok, don’t worry as there is a free shuttle service to move around the town.
The hotel was right at the end of the street, and walking to the main road takes about 15 minutes. You could also take a motorbike, tuk-tuk, or hotel shuttle.
Hotel Environment
The hotel is clean, with an excellent warm reception by the hotel staff.
Complimentary Buffet Breakfast
The resort provides breakfast with a decent spread of Thai and Malaysian cuisine.
The menu includes noodles, fried rice, bread, nasi lemak, and porridge.
Fresh fruits and simple desserts, as well as coffee, tea, and juices, are available. The only thing not on the menu is yogurt.
The restaurant is pork-free. It is not HALAL for Muslim travelers.
Breakfast was served with a wide-spread buffet.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is the longest I’ve experienced.
It’s big and lovely, with a human-made waterfall by the side and a fenced area for the kid’s pool with water slides.
The swimming pool is suitable for adults and children to enjoy.
There is a towel supply service, a nearby shower, and changing rooms.
A private function room at the end of the swimming pool offers an ideal location for a poolside party or wedding.
Eating Around the Area
Finding great food and attractions near the hotel at night is perfect for a short family holiday.
The hotel’s quiet location, with convenience stores, street food carts, and coffee shops within a short walking distance, is also a plus.
Free Shuttle service
The Resort offers a free shuttle service, and the driver took us out for our meals in the Asian Cultural Village and Dannok town for our seafood dinner.
Front Desk and Service
The staff is polite, friendly, and helpful.
Wi-Fi access
A good, robust, and stable WiFi connection is appreciated.
Car Park

Three days and two nights would be perfect for a short family holiday. The atmosphere is excellent for team building and relaxing.

There’s a casual restaurant, a bar, a nightclub, a karaoke lounge, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a gym.
