28th June 2024 (Danang, Vietnam): La Maison 1888, the signature fine-dining restaurant at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, was honored with two prestigious awards last night at the MICHELIN Guide Awards for Vietnam.
The restaurant received a highly coveted One Star rating, a testament to its exceptional culinary offerings.
Mr. Toan Nguyen, the resort’s assistant sommelier, received a special sommelier award for his outstanding contribution to the dining experience.
La Maison 1888, a culinary gem in Danang, stands as the sole recipient of a One-Star Rating, a distinction shared by only seven establishments in Vietnam.

Chef de Cuisine Florian Stein is at the helm of La Maison 1888’s culinary direction, a maestro of creativity, skill, and precision.
His previous tenure at the renowned Le Chambard restaurant in the Alsace region of France is a testament to his culinary prowess.
Complementing his creations is Beverage Manager and sommelier extraordinaire Jimmy Chang, who curates an inspired selection of wines for every gastronomic experience.
The restaurant’s Wine Cellar, honored with the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator for seven consecutive years, houses many rare vintages that cannot be found anywhere else in the country.
Toan Nguyen has worked as an Assistant Sommelier for a year, and MICHELIN honored him with one of three special awards highlighting young talent.

The MICHELIN star is the latest in a series of recognitions for La Maison 1888, which has been elevating the standard of gastronomy in Vietnam since it opened 11 years ago.
This fine-dining destination has earned accolades as one of CNN’s “Top 10 World’s Best Restaurants” and as the “World’s Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant” by the World Travel Awards.
It has also been featured among Architectural Digest’s “Top 10 Most Beautiful Restaurants in the World.
First introduced in 1900, the MICHELIN Guide honors the world’s top restaurants.
It evaluates them based on the chef’s personality, flavor harmony, cooking mastery, ingredient quality, and consistency.
The inaugural MICHELIN Guide for Danang follows the launch of guides for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 and reflects how Vietnam is rising to prominence on the global gastronomic scene.
