Talk Talk Kopi – Modern Kopitiam at Sunshine Central Penang

Here’s a secret — Talk Talk Kopi is my favourite modern-day kopitiam whenever I’m out for a grocery run at Sunshine Central.

Lili first brought me here, and since then I’ve been dropping by at least twice a month.

Tucked inside the mall, this cosy café has become my go-to spot — familiar, comfortable, and always welcoming.

What keeps me coming back?

The clean layout, inviting booth seats, and those warm smiles that greet me the moment I walk in.

The staff even know my favourite table now, and there’s something about being appreciated makes every visit a little more special.

I usually pop in for teatime or a late lunch when the crowd has thinned.

You’ll see families chatting over nasi lemak, working adults on a quick break, and retirees like me enjoying good kopi and light bites.

On weekends, the little café fills up quickly with regulars. It’s the kind of everyday spot that quietly brightens your routine.

At Talk Talk Kopi, the team believes in bringing the taste of home-cooked meals to everyone.

The menu is filled with comforting Malaysian favourites, each prepared with care — the kind of food that reminds you of home.

It’s a space where families, friends, and solo diners feel welcome, where good food and easy smiles come naturally.

And that’s exactly how it feels.

Homey, warm, and comforting.

A bowl of noodles, a plate of nasi lemak, or just a quiet moment with a cup of kopi.

Talk Talk Kopi gives you that gentle sense of belonging.

You come for the food, but stay for the feeling.

What to Order at Talk Talk Kopi

If you’re not sure where to start, here are my personal favourites.

Talk Talk Kopi (Hot RM6.90 | Iced RM7.90)

Smooth, aromatic, and never too sweet.

I switch between hot and iced depending on the day.

Both are excellent companions to any meal or snack.

Sambal Udang Toast (RM6.50)

A spicy, nostalgic favourite.

The sambal and sweet prawns remind me of my mum’s sandwiches she packed for school.

The only thing missing are those paper-thin cucumber slices she always added for crunch.

Ramen Udang (RM17.50)

Like a wetter version of Mee Udang, but with a sweeter, balanced broth.

Fresh prawns, a soft egg, and a garnish of cucur udang make it rich without being heavy.

Comfort in every spoonful.

Spicy Sour Soup Fish Noodle (RM18.90)

This one surprised me.

Light, fragrant, and full of flavour from fish bones, lemongrass, and tomato, with slices of fresh barramundi.

I chose bihun instead of fried noodles.

The portion is generous, the soup is tangy and bright — I finished every drop.
