Aberdeen Fish Ball King is a go-to local eatery that serves a delicious cheap Hong Kong-style breakfast.
The eatery is one of the cheapest stalls in Jordan and has traditional Cantonese noodles.
Hong Kong offers a variety of Cantonese breakfast noodles.
This eatery stands out for its location near the MRT.
If you cannot read Chinese, picture menus with prices on the wall are indicated for non-Chinese visitors.
With my limited Cantonese, I managed to converse with the lady server.
The service was great, and the server was one of the friendliest Hong Kongers I had met on the trip.
Thirty years ago, I wouldn’t have eaten at a local shop by myself.
I was worried of encountering overworked HK servers are known for their brusque attitude.
However, the servers are very kind and attentive to our needs today.
She recommended their signature dishes, like daily fresh handmade fishballs and cuttlefish balls.
We ordered two bowls of their signature “Handmade Fresh Fishballs Noodles.”
Another order is for Wantan Noodles with braised pork knuckles.
These sets came with a drink, and we got HK Milk Tea.
Hong Kong Milk Tea is a very strong, perfectly sweet cup of tea enjoyed in bakeries, cafes, and restaurants across Hong Kong.
I needed two packets of sugar to taste the milk tea, which was right for me.
The flavors were satisfying, but the “Hong Kong-style breakfast” was a straightforward, authentic experience rather than gourmet food.
The noodles are average, and the soup only offers a salty aroma without any distinctive flavor.
The taste is clean and clear.
It was spicy, slightly numbing, and delicious, especially when we added chili oil to the noodles.
The spicy condiments made it even more fragrant.
The taste was good, and the fish ball tasted fresh and bouncy.
If you like clean eating, you will enjoy the piping hot bowls of noodles at Aberdeen Fish Ball King.
The next time I return, I’ll try their specialty cuttlefish balls.
As we were there before 9 am, we got to appreciate the WC being super clean and shiny.
Overall, the shop is clean, and tables are immediately wiped when customers leave.
