Pak Yusoff Nasi Melayu The Menu

Pak Yusoff Nasi Melayu offers a menu with over 50 dishes catering to all tastes, including vegetarian options.

The quality and portion sizes are excellent, making it a crowd-pleaser for Malays, Chinese, Indians, and vegetarians alike.

The stall’s ability to cater to all tastes is remarkable, and the food quality is superb.

Counting and naming the dishes was challenging since everything looked so delicious and inviting.

When I asked the staff, they told me they don’t count the number of dishes and estimate it to be around 50, depending on what the kitchen churns out.

During my visit, I didn’t spot any crabs or stingrays.

After I enjoyed my fill and relaxed with my second glass of delicious kaw kaw Ais Bandung, one of the staff informed me that the last dish, Ayam Kicap, was out.

That’s how they know if everything on the menu is on the buffet line!

Food Review: A Delicious and Spicy Experience

Pak Yusoff Nasi Melayu’s dishes are mouthwatering, well-balanced, and spicy.

While some dishes are pretty hot, they add an extra layer of flavor, and it’s an unforgettable experience that won’t disappoint.

When faced with an array of buffet items, I always go straight to my favorite dishes, whether there are 20, 30, or even 50 options.

Today was no exception, and I was thrilled to have the chance to try some of my favorites, including:

  • Cendawan Goreng Tepung (Battered Oyster Mushrooms)
  • Kerabu Taugeh (Bean Sprouts Salad)
  • Telur Goreng Masak Kicap (Fried Egg with Sweet Soy Sauce)
  • Daging Masak Merah (literally ‘Red-Cooked Beef’ in Malay)
  • Pajeri Nenas (Malay-Style Pineapple Curry)

Telur Goreng Masak Kicap is a delicious dish with fried eggs topped with cut chili padi and sweet black soy sauce.

Kerabu Taugeh is a delightful mix of bean sprouts, toasted and pounded desiccated coconut (Kerisik), and a spicy Sambal Belacan sauce.

Daging Masak Merah is a tender beef dish that perfectly balances sweetness and spiciness, offering the best of both worlds.

Cendawan Tiram Goreng Crispy was something that Kak Izza recommended at Nasi Campur Awet Muda.

It is always sold out, and I was just happy to find this on Pak Yusoff’s menu.

Straight off the stove, it is flavourful, crispy, and delicious.

Pajeri Nenas is a dish my dad and I love the most, and I can never resist ordering it whenever I see it.

This popular Malay dish has Indian roots and is sweet, creamy, and slightly sour.

With the right recipe, it can easily be a two-plate rice dish on its own!

Beside it is another white plate with several dishes such as battered oyster mushrooms, bean sprouts salad, red-cooked beef, and Malay-style pineapple curry. A glass of cold pink-colored Ais Bandung drink is also on the table.
