Salon Du Chocolat Gurney Paragon A Chocolate Lover’s Paradise

Salon Du Chocolat is heaven for chocolate lovers and unapologetic chocoholics.

If chocolate is your comfort, your reward, or your weakness, this café will feel familiar in the best way.

Chocolate remains the most indulgent dessert there is, and Salon Du Chocolat clearly shares that belief.

My only ongoing wish is space.

The café is small, which means limited seating and a constant queue during busy hours.

In my imagination, it would be a larger chocolate dessert café with a dramatic fountain—think Willy Wonka, minus the chaos.

Until then, we wait patiently, drawn by cravings and the smell of melted chocolate.

Since its opening in 2020, I’ve visited Salon Du Chocolat at least six times, which probably tells you more than any single visit ever could.

Why Chocolate Lovers Can’t Miss Salon Du Chocolat

Relax in your favourite booth while enjoying chocolate desserts

This café is perfect for people who love rich chocolate desserts and enjoy familiar favourites.

It’s also ideal if you want a quiet mall spot to chit chat after a meal.

For mall diners at Gurney Paragon who want something sweet but not cake-based.

If you love small bites and indulgent chocolate drinks, this is a perfect stop after shopping or lunch.

A shot of melted chocolate to elevate your dessert experience

And yes, you can order a shot of melted chocolate, which feels both unnecessary and absolutely necessary at the same time.

If you know, you know.

Walking around the café, it’s hard to resist.

I once tried to ignore the chocolate cake and failed miserably.

A picture menu would help, but pointing works fine when self-control fails.

Chocolate Brownie

The chocolate brownie is irresistible for chocolate lovers

There’s always someone ordering the sizzling brownie.

When the hot chocolate sauce hits the heated plate, the aroma hits your brain like a switch.

Dessert suddenly becomes inevitable.

Even the most sensible dining companion eventually gives up and says,

“Dory, Go ahead. Order it.”

For me, these desserts are often too sweet.

That makes smaller options like cream puffs and chocolate drinks even more appealing.

Cream Puffs That Melt Our Heart

The chocolate drizzle adds a delightful texture to the cream puffs

When I want to behave, I order cream puffs.

The magic happens when our orders arrive.

Small bites, custard-filled, drizzled with dark chocolate.

The custard stays cool while the chocolate hardens, giving a delightful contrast of textures with every bite.

A quick note: cream puffs and profiteroles are often used interchangeably.

Both are made from choux pastry filled with cream, but profiteroles are typically filled with ice cream, especially in American and modern French bistro styles.

They consist of a crisp, hollow choux shell filled with vanilla ice cream and often topped with warm chocolate sauce or ganache.

Prices encourage over-ordering.

  • 9 for RM26
  • 6 for RM20
  • 3 for RM10

You also get a choice of chocolate shot, which never helps with restraint!

Our Visit on 28 January 2026

I returned for another stop in my chocolate journey.

We ordered two favourites: hot signature chocolate and cream puffs. Last visit: 29 January 2026.

The chocolate drink was smooth, rich, and exactly what you want when craving proper chocolate indulgence.

The cream puffs weren’t freshly made that day, so they were slightly firmer.

But the cool custard and hardened chocolate drizzle made each bite perfectly enjoyable.

We went weekday just after lunch, before teatime crowds, and the café was quiet.

Best thing was snagging our favourite booth seat, the best seat in the house.

It was ideal to relax, chat, and savor chocolate.

The café shows a bit of age, with some wallpaper peeling, but the service remains friendly and efficient.

Even with wear and tear, I’ll still return.

Salon Du Chocolat still delivers chocolate bliss.

Our Favourite Desserts at Salon Du Chocolat

  • Six cream puffs with dark chocolate drizzle
  • Two hot signature chocolate drinks

We polished off the cream puffs, savoring each bite, then stirred the remaining dark chocolate into our drinks.

The hot chocolates rounded out a perfect dessert session.

The Salon Du Chocolat Experience

In quieter hours, Salon Du Chocolat feels cozy and unhurried.

At peak times, patience is key.

Seating is limited, and the queue moves steadily.

The staff handle the crowd well and are genuinely committed to serving customers.

After a long day of shopping or lunch, this café remains a reliable stop for chocolate therapy.

It remains a quiet mall spot and small, indulgent chocolate bites.
