PARKROYAL Penang Resort unveiled a refreshed resort after an RM55m Transformation
Built in 1990, PARKROYAL Penang Resort has undergone several refreshments.
The refreshed exercise to fully refurbish the resort’s public guest areas, rooms and suites, all-day dining restaurant, and lounge cost RM55 million.
The Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng, launched the resort’s new logo identity to mark a new chapter.
PARKROYAL Penang Resort Seamless Arrival Experience
The design of the new space begins at the resort’s porte-cochere and reception, which opens out to the palm-fringed sea.
The double-story ceiling height with modern timber screen and local artwork lends a strong sense of connection upon arrival for guests.
The relaxing, airy ambiance in the lobby hints at the resort’s tropical surroundings.
PARKROYAL Penang Resort’s reception features high ceilings and light-filled spaces.
Contemporary Comfort in a Tropical Setting
Rooms & Suites
I like the new rooms.
Each of the rooms is tastefully decorated and furnished.
The rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities, spacious, and comfortable with twin or King-size beds.
If you prefer to travel with a group or family, there are 30 suites with a private balcony.
The Two-Bedroom Family Seaview units are designed for families and groups.
The smaller one-bedroom family sea view offers guests greater space flexibility.
I just love the spacious day beds by the balcony for lounging.
You get to relax as you look out at the breathtaking sea view.
Fresh Ingredients for Local and Asian Fare for New Dining Concept
I liked the modern and casual ambiance dining concept of the Cinnamon restaurant, which lives up to its name.
The restaurant’s emphasis on fresh ingredients and generous use of spices and herbs bring out the authentic flavors of local and Asian cuisines.
I’m sure you will like Cinnamon’s communal dining table, which is perfect for large gatherings.
Upgraded Lounge for Entertainment or Relaxation
For relaxation, I enjoyed the airy environment of the Javana Lounge.
The refreshed 80-seater lounge has oversized overhead and stylish fans to create a cooling breeze.
The sofa beds are great for reclining on.
There were delicious cocktails to sip as you chit-chatted.
It was very easy to doze off if you know what I mean.
I enjoyed surfing the web at the spacious workstations.
I find it a perfect time to enjoy a quiet coffee and a cookie here.
We have to “check in” the office. For me, I’m guilty as charged.
The stylish Javana Lounge features live entertainment with a good band in the evening.
If you’re tired from spending a whole day sightseeing in George Town, this is the best spot in the resort to relax.
PARKROYAL Penang Resort’s general manager, Edward Kollmer, General Manager said the resort is proud of its heritage and will be working hard as one of Penang’s top resorts.
“Tourism is thriving in Penang. Malaysians and foreign visitors flock to Penang for its unrivaled local food, culture, and ecotourism.

Later in the night, over 250 guests were treated to a buffet dinner at the beach, complete with entertainment and fireworks.
