Theatre is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers. The performers are actors who present the experience of an event, either real or imagined on stage before a live audience. The performance is accompanied with lighting, sound and music. In smaller stage performances, the environment is more intimate with the audience seated close to the stage.
An actor (refers to both males and females) is a person who portrays a character in a performance. The actor performs “in the flesh” in the traditional medium of the theatre. The actor’s interpretation of their role played. This may be based on a real person or fictional character. Interpretation occurs even when the actor is “playing themselves”.
In some forms of experimental performance art, sometimes these lines may blur.
