Exciting news for Penangites as Air Asia now flies direct to Hanoi and Phuket from Penang! The direct flights to both cities in Hanoi, Vietnam and Phuket, Thailand commences on 1 July 2018.
AirAsia’s Head of Commercial, Spencer Lee, said the low-cost carrier will offer a promotional all-in-fares from RM99 (Penang-Hanoi) and RM79 (Penang-Phuket) for one way travel. The booking period is from now to April 15, 2018, for the travel period between July 1, 2018, and Oct 28, 2018.
The new ninth and tenth routes from Penang will further strengthen AirAsia ’s inter-ASEAN connectivity. Penang’s strategic location will help boost the growing inbound and outbound travel demand.
“Flights from Penang to Hanoi will operate four times weekly, while flights to Phuket will operate with daily direct flights.
“As a truly Asian airline that flies to all 10 Asian countries, we are happy to continue our efforts in linking up our Asian footprint further as part of our extensive network.
“We are positive that the latest routes will significantly contribute to the tourism sectors of all three countries to become a desirable tourism region for travelers across the world,” he added.
AirAsia currently operates 102 weekly flights one way to Kuala Lumpur, including Johor Bahru (31 times weekly), Kota Kinabalu (11 times weekly), Kuching, (10 times weekly), Langkawi (21 times weekly), Ho Chi Minh City (7 times weekly), Singapore (28 times weekly), Medan (28 times weekly), Surabaya (five times weekly) and Jakarta (14 times weekly) via AirAsia Indonesia and Bangkok (14 times weekly one way) via AirAsia Thailand (flight code FD).
